The range of digital techniques and technologies available for the musical creation nowadays is really large, as wide are the potential applications, depending on the needs, both creative and technical. You can find in the software market almost an endless variety of instruments, ranging from traditional instruments emulation, to a huge amount of combinations of sounds, and all the different techniques of synthesis. In the other hand there are tools for a digital manipulation of the audio for later use in several contexts, whether you need it for a distribution format (digital or mechanical), or to include it onto an audiovisual media.
This series of three courses have been developed to cover a wide range of potential recipients, including high school students, musicians who wants to compose and produce their own music, as well as an introduction to future professionals in the field of the music production (artistic producer/sound engineer), and an approach to the post-production world as well. The Digital Audio – Home Studio course is specially indicated for High School students, where they will be hands-on into the music software from the very beginning, and along the course they will be able, guided by the teacher, to create their own sounds and their own music.
It is a beginner/medium level course, designed for musicians, DJ’s and high school students, emphasizing musical composition, as well as an introduction for a potentials use of computers to play live music. This course works fine for DJ’s and musicians looking to expand their knowledge about audio processing, and for those who want to start producing their own tracks.
It is a medium/advanced level seminar, designed for those who want to deepen in the field of music production, and explains the latest techniques of audio processing, as well as an approach to microphone placement and mixing techniques.
In parallel, I offer this course for the digital production environment Pro Tools, which is the quintessential professional platform today on most of the recording, mixing and prost-production studios around the world, becoming the excellence standard since the 90’s as a combination of versatility and quality. This course is intended exclusively for a training in the use of the environment and tools for recording, editing and mixing within the Pro Tools plattform (AVID).
Herramientas para producir un proyecto de música en vivo combinando instrumentos tradicionales con interfaces musicales interactivas.
Introducción:
El seminario está orientado a músicos, productores, dj’s y vj’s que quieran desarrollar un proyecto musical en vivo incluyendo nuevas tecnologías. Incluye una investigación exhaustiva respecto de los distintos materiales sonoros que pueden emplearse en un proyecto, tanto sampleados como de síntesis, y un desarrollo personalizado de las distintas herramientas que permiten armar un set adaptado a las necesidades de cada caso. También se verán algunas posibilidades que ofrecen las distintas interfaces interactivas en el control simultáneo de sistemas audiovisuales.
Se entiende como interfaces interactivas a aquellos dispositivos que nos permiten operar en tiempo real sobre el audio generado por un sistema informático. Durante el seminario se ofrecerá un panorama general de algunas opciones de controladores MIDI que hay en el mercado más una aproximación a interfaces interactivas mediante el uso de dispositivos de control como el Wii-mote, multitouch como el iPod Touch, y el uso del protocolo OSC mediante una red Wi-Fi
El taller está dividido en tres fases, que incluyen la pre-producción del material musical, mapeo y puesta a punto de interfaces y finalmente la sincronización y control de síntesis visual.
La duración total del taller es de cinco días, el planning completo se detalla en el anexo correspondiente.
Para las clases se contará con el set instrumental completo de Amapola Dry (ver dossier adjunto), de manera que cada sesión se cerrará con un breve set en vivo que permita visualizar la aplicación de los conocimientos vertidos en clase.
Amapola Dry es un proyecto musical conformado por Sofía Juan y Martín Fuks, en el que se transitan diversos caminos entre el pop, la electrónica, el tango y el jazz. La puesta en escena aúna la experiencia adquirida a lo largo de los años en diversos disciplinas, que van desde los conciertos en vivo con bandas de rock a la puesta musical de obras de danza, las giras con proyectos de electrónica latina a la investigación en el campo del arte sonoro y el arte interactivo.
